Innovation Market Analyst
Hypaesha Baker brings over a decade of experience at Southern Company, where she currently serves as an innovation analyst – helping startups scale and employees drive innovation in the energy sector.
In this role, she supports tech accelerator programs by organizing events, workshops, and initiatives that strengthen ties between startups and the broader energy and technology ecosystems. Her efforts focus on recruiting, retaining, and attracting top innovators to Alabama, creating opportunities for industry convergence and growth.
She began her career at Southern Company in 2013 with Gulf Power, where she delivered marketing programs and customer incentives to residential customers. This work led her to collaborate with HVAC contractors and home builders in the Birmingham area to strengthen programs for both residential and commercial customers. Over time, she transitioned to leading internal innovation campaigns aimed at driving efficiency, enhancing safety, and generating revenue-focused ideas across the company.
Baker earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of West Florida and an MBA from Columbia Southern University. Hypaesha resides in Chelsea with her husband, Juvaughn. Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends—whether traveling the world, exploring Birmingham’s vibrant food scene, or planning memorable events for her community.
