Amendi Stephens
Project Manager, Business Development
Amendi specializes in identifying profitable economic growth opportunities for industry sectors such as Chemicals, Automotive & Electric Vehicles, Life Sciences & Biotech and Forest Products.
In this role, Amendi identifies profitable economic growth opportunities through competitive intelligence with a focus on Alabama's chemical corridor and other industry segments such as Automotive & Electric Vehicles, Life Sciences & Biotech and Forest Products.
Prior to joining Alabama Power's economic development team, Amendi managed business development efforts through leadership in project development and contract negotiation of long-term power purchase agreements for Southern Power, a Southern Company wholesale energy subsidiary.
Amendi has nearly 20 years of experience in the utility industry. Her experience as a business development manager, along with her analytical skills and background in chemical engineering, makes her uniquely suited for her contributions as a key resource to industrial companies seeking to grow their businesses in Alabama.
Amendi graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor's and master's degree in chemical engineering. She remains connected to Auburn through her membership in 100+ Women Strong, an Auburn alumni organization dedicated to the future of women in engineering. Amendi also participates in mentoring programs, serving as a mentor for young women in engineering.
In her leisure time, Amendi spends time with her two nieces, travels both domestically and abroad, and keeps company with her English springer spaniel, Winnie.
I'm motivated each day by working with industry and community leaders to accomplish their objectives of growth and sustainability in Alabama. Helping to create and execute strategies for the long term that benefit industry within the state is what excites me most about my job.
