Philip Costa
GIS Project Specialist
Philip Costa is a valuable part of the strategic analytics team evaluating potential corporate locations as a geographic information systems (GIS) project specialist.
Philip joined Alabama Power's Economic and Community Development department in June of 2022. Previously, he worked on the Power Delivery team. In that role, he worked with DistGIS and JETS. In addition, he rolled out the new Enterprise Asset Management application, PD Maximo.
He is excited about leveraging his experience and specialized skillset to help companies expanding in Alabama. As a part of the strategic analytics team, he is responsible for providing information derived from GIS tools and technologies to support growth-focused business units.
Philip holds a bachelor's degree in Geography with a minor in geographic information systems from the University of Alabama. He also has his FAA Part 107 Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems certificate. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their son, exploring the great outdoors, fishing, hiking, canoeing, and mountain biking.
