Adrienne Newton is a strategic leader in economic development analytics, known for transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive industry attraction, site development, and community growth across Alabama.
In her current role, she leads a high-performing team that supports business and community development through data valuation, GIS integration, marketing collateral, and customized visualization tools. The team ensures that stakeholders have the information and resources needed to make informed decisions and achieve impactful results.
Adrienne began her career at Southern Company in April 2009 as an engineer focused on environmental compliance for Southern Power. Over the years, she has expanded her expertise through roles in market analysis, asset management, and generation planning, consistently applying a multidisciplinary approach to address complex challenges and develop sustainable solutions.
She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Howard University, an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alabama. A Birmingham native, Adrienne is deeply committed to community engagement, serving as an advisory board member for the YMCA Birmingham Youth Center and volunteering with iCan Girls in STEM. She also enjoys spending time with family and traveling.
I enjoy working with data, and I am excited to be a member of a team that allows me to provide powerful data to support industrial growth within the State, which positively impacts and benefits the communities and lives of residents.
