Tonya Gary is a data-driven strategist on Alabama Power's Economic and Community Development team.
With more than two decades of experience in the energy sector, she joined the team in 2019, specializing in project coordination, data analysis and stakeholder engagement to advance economic growth across Alabama.
In her current role, Gary provides analytical and marketing support for initiatives that inform decision-making and drive results. She leads the creation of innovative tools that improve business processes and manages high-impact projects.
Gary's collaborative approach and technical proficiency enable her to work seamlessly with internal teams, government agencies, businesses and community organizations. A graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a certified Project Management Professional, she is committed to continuous learning and professional development. She has presented at industry conferences and taught internal training programs, sharing her expertise in data analytics and project management.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, traveling and watching her children participate in various sports.
My role is very rewarding as I get to see firsthand how the data analytics helps improve communities and in turn attracts business to them. The end goal is to see that Alabama communities are prepared for economic growth.
