Tonya Gary
Senior Analyst, Research and Data Analytics
Tonya specializes in strategic analytics. She applies her education and experience to provide analysis and valuable insights on locations, people and properties throughout the state.
Prior to joining the Alabama Power Economic Development team in January 2019, Tonya worked for 18 years with the Natural Gas Operations and the Financial and Contract Services teams at Southern Company Services in Birmingham, AL. Applying knowledge learned from the Auburn University Government & Economic Development Institute, Tonya enjoys using analysis to help Alabama thrive.
Tonya graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham's School of Business with a degree in Marketing. She and her husband Bernard have two sons Jeremiah and Noah. In her spare time, she and her family enjoy traveling, going to Major League Baseball games, and watching the boys play baseball and basketball.
My role is very rewarding as I get to see firsthand how the data analytics helps improve communities and in turn attracts business to them. The end goal is to see that Alabama communities are prepared for economic growth.
