The 2010 Forbes list of America’s Best Colleges includes nine Alabama colleges: The University of Alabama, University of Alabama at Birmingham, University of Alabama in Huntsville, Auburn University, Birmingham-Southern College, Samford University, Spring Hill College, Troy University and Tuskegee University.
The 2011 U.S. News & World Report College Rankings report included five Alabama universities classified as national doctoral research universities: The University of Alabama (tied for 79th); Auburn University (85th); University of Alabama at Birmingham (151st); University of Alabama in Huntsville (179th).
