Roger Wehner

Roger Wehner has the responsibility of locating new industry in Alabama with the bulk of his efforts focused internationally. Splitting his time across Europe and Asia, he partners with communities and the state to market Alabama abroad.  While experienced in working projects in many industries, he focuses on aerospace/defense, automotive, biotechnology and data centers. 

Wehner has been with Alabama Power’s ECD team since 2003.  Before then,  Roger owned a management consulting firm whose services included forest products-related site selection.  He has served in a leadership capacity to many international and country-specific organizations and chambers, as well as industry-specific associations.    

Wehner graduated from Troy State University with a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs. He is also a graduate of the  Defense Language Institute in Monterey, Calif. He also has a master's degree in International Business and Latin American Studies from the University of Alabama, and has done post-graduate work in strategic marketing and management at Virginia Tech.  just prior to joining the department he was at Virginia Tech, where he pursued a doctorate in Strategic Marketing and Management in the forest products industry.
