Odds are if you have questions about a piece of property for your business, Alabama has already answered them with Certified AdvantageSites. These sites have been put through an extensive vetting process from the standpoint of a potential company and are as close to shovel-ready as possible. The certifying of these sites is a team approach by the private sector and state and local governments. We do all of the hard work of vetting the sites so a manufacturer, distributor or other prospective company doesn’t have to take the time or expense to do so. Alabama now has 46 active Certified AdvantageSites throughout the state.
Overseen by the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, the Certified AdvantageSite program includes the Alabama Department of Commerce, Alabama Power Company, Alagasco, the North Alabama Industrial Development Association and PowerSouth Energy Cooperative.
More than 20 projects have located on sites with the Certified AdvantageSite designation since the program’s inception in 2008. These projects represent the creation of more than 4,000 jobs and nearly $1 billion in capital investments.
